An educational blog is a blog or writing created for educational purposes. Educational blogs can be created by instructors or students. Writing a blog creates an atmosphere for creativity. Great ideas and arguments/points can be supported through writing a blog. A few benefits of blogging include promoting self-expression, develop analytical thinking, exercise creativity, improve writing, and encourage the sharing of resources among students and professionals. Some challenges may be to stay on topic and respect others opinions in their blogs. Blogging can be done individually or even as a group project in the classroom.
Standardize testing is becoming a bigger issue each school year. Some may not know exactly what standardize testing is. Standardized testing is any test that is administered and scored in a consistent or "standard" manner. A great example of this type of testing is SAT and ACT testing. Some struggles that students may experience with standardized testing is testing anxiety and not being able to perform at their best because of the high expectations that are behind this type of testing. Standardized testing does not show a student's thought process but rather a straightforward choice that the student made because they had to choose one answer. This type of testing not only holds high expectations for students but also for
teachers. Teachers success is based on their students' test scores. It can pressure teachers to only teach students about test materials rather than truly teaching what the students' need to learn to be successful. From personal experience, I struggle with testing anxiety and always hated having to take standardized testing because if I didn't score as well as others than I felt that I wasn't smart enough to be successful.
Even though my experience with blogging has been short I truly enjoy it. I enjoy being able to express my thoughts and opinions about something that I am very passionate about like education. I feel it is a great

resource that all teachers should experience at some point. I believe it is a great way to share information within/about your classroom. Blogging could be a fun tool to share with students to discuss different topics in the classroom. Blogging can be a form of discussion assigned to students. I plan to try to incorporate blogging in my future classroom for myself as the teacher and my future students.
